Italian-born Selene Zanetti has just finished her two years with our Opera Studio, and now has the wonderful opportunity to sing the main role in the new production of The Bartered Bride. Get to know the soprano singer better here.
Selene Zanetti was born in Vicenza in 1989, studied singing there and in Padua, and attended the Master Class at the Music Institute in Modena. She gained her first experiences in the title role of Suor Angelica at the Teatro Comunale in Cagli and in productions of La traviata and Rigoletto as part of the 12th Maria Callas Festival in Sirmione. Selene has won numerous awards and accolades, including the Gaetano Fraschini singing contest. In March 2018 she debuted as Mimì (La bohème) at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. From 2016 to 2018 she was a member of the Bayerische Staatsoper’s Opera Studio as a scholarship holder of the Vera and Volker Doppelfeld Foundation, where she also gained much stage experience in various roles at the Bayerische Staatsoper.
